Moving to new waste software is a chance to clean up data and improve processes. Use this checklist to prepare your team, your data and your sites.
Pre-Implementation
- Map your current waste flows: acceptance, weighbridge, processing, outbound and reporting.
- Identify who needs access and what each role should see.
- List your existing systems: weighbridge, accounting, laboratory and CRM.
- Agree which data must be migrated and which can be archived.
- Define what good looks like at go-live and 30 days after.
During Implementation
- Configure sites, users, vehicles and waste streams before training.
- Test weighbridge integration with real vehicles and weights.
- Run a parallel period alongside existing processes to validate data.
- Train by role: gate staff, weighbridge operators, drivers, office and lab.
- Document decisions and keep a log of issues and resolutions.
Post Go-Live
- Review first-week tickets and exceptions daily.
- Confirm Digital Waste Tracking records are complete and accurate.
- Measure time saved on manual admin, report generation and invoice accuracy.
- Plan the next phase of modules or sites to roll out.
